Straya Online Fencing Supplies

The first six posts,
ready for your approval.

Month 1 of the gameplan is "set the posts". Here is what that looks like in practice: six posts for October, designed in Straya's colours, written in Straya's voice, with the COLORBOND® steel wording checked on every one. Nothing goes live until you have said yes to it.

The mix

Every post does one of three jobs: build awareness, build trust, or send people to the website. October covers four of the five pillars. "Built with Straya" starts once the first real customer photos come back through the photo engine.

Post 1 creative: We're not a faceless warehouse

Meet Straya

Job: trust. The opener. It puts a real address and a real team behind the website, and it takes the word "online" out of the faceless-warehouse column.

We're not a faceless warehouse. There is a real yard behind the website. It's at 3/20 Old Pacific Highway, Yatala, and it's full of fence kits made from COLORBOND® steel, packed and ready to go. Order online, pick it up from us. Panels, posts, rails, screws and caps all in the one kit, so there's no second trip to the hardware store. DIYer or tradie, same kits, same help over the counter. Mon to Thu 7am to 4pm | Fri 7am to 3pm | Sat 8am to 11amCOLORBOND® steel is a registered trade mark of BlueScope Steel Limited.

Swap in a photo of the actual yard and the team as soon as we take them in the first filming session. That version of this post will do even better.

Post 2 creative: COLORBOND steel colour of the month, Woodland Grey

COLORBOND® steel colour of the month: Woodland Grey®

Job: awareness. The first instalment of a series that runs for all eight months, so there is always a reason to come back. The swatch sits right next to the fence, so anyone scrolling can see the colour is the colour.

COLORBOND® steel colour of the month: Woodland Grey®. Dark, warm, and it lets the garden do the talking. Woodland Grey® is in our fence kits made from COLORBOND® steel, in Metzag®, Metline® and Trimclad®. Same look both sides, so the neighbours get the good side too. Order online, pick up from Yatala. Link in bio.COLORBOND® steel and ® colour names are registered trade marks of BlueScope Steel Limited.

One for you to confirm: the fence is one of your own jobs and the colour is my read of it, so give me a yes or a correction on Woodland Grey® before this goes out. Changing the name and the swatch is a two minute job. The gameplan had Woodland Grey® down for December, so Monument® takes that slot instead.

Post 3 creative: Building on a slope? Go one size up
Know-how Thu 15 Oct Facebook + Instagram · single image

Building on a slope?

Job: awareness and saves. Straight off Straya's own product pages. Posts that answer a real question get saved and shared, and saves are what tell Meta to show the next post to more people.

Building on a slope? If you're building a raked fence, just go one size up to cover the slope. Same fence line, no gaps at the low end, no cutting sheets on site. Save this one for the weekend. Got a tricky fence line? Send us a message with the measurements and the team will point you in the right direction.

No COLORBOND® steel mention in this one, so no acknowledgement line is needed. That is deliberate, not an oversight.

Post 4 creative: One panel kit, one bay of fence
Shop & trade Tue 20 Oct Facebook + Instagram · single image

What's actually in a panel kit

Job: sales. The question that stops an online fence sale is "what do I actually get for my money". This answers it before anyone has to ask.

One panel kit. One bay of fence. Open the kit and it's all there: infill sheets, top and bottom rails, posts, colour-matched screws and post caps. No guesswork, no extra trips to the hardware store. Panel kits made from COLORBOND® steel start at $97.86 inc GST as at October 2026, in Metzag®, Metline® and Trimclad®. Order online, pick up from Yatala.COLORBOND® steel is a registered trade mark of BlueScope Steel Limited.

Every price is stamped "as at October 2026" on the image and in the caption. Social posts have a long tail, so a kit price someone finds in two years is dated rather than wrong.

Post 5 creative: How many kits for your fence line
Know-how Thu 22 Oct Facebook + Instagram · single image

How many kits for your fence line?

Job: awareness and sales. The maths most people get wrong, done for them. It is also the post most likely to start a message in the inbox, which is where the sale happens.

How many kits for your fence line? Each panel kit covers one bay, post to post, and a bay is 2365mm. So: your fence line in metres, divided by 2.365, rounded up. A 20 metre back fence? 20 divided by 2.365 is 8.4, so you'd order 9 panel kits. Save this one. And if it's a tricky run with a gate or a corner in it, send us the measurements and we'll work it out with you.

Post 6 creative: Fencing for a living? Open a trade account

Open a trade account

Job: sales. Aimed squarely at installers and builders. Trade customers buy again and again, and they are also the source of the Tradie of the Month photos later in the plan.

Fencing for a living? Open a trade account. It's free to set up, and the discount grows with the account. Order online, we'll pack the lot, and you collect it from Yatala. Fence kits, gate kits, posts, rails, screws and retaining wall gear, all in the one spot. Sign up on the website, or have a chat with the team at the counter. Hashtags

Every post above carries its own set. They are not decoration: on Instagram they are how someone in Ormeau who has never heard of Straya ends up looking at your fence. Three groups go on every post, plus whatever that post is actually about.

What's in every set

  • Product. #colorbondsteel #steelfencing #fencingsupplies #fencekit #gatekits
  • Local. #yatala #beenleigh #ormeau #logan #goldcoast #brisbane #ipswich #seqld. These matter most. A fencing supplier does not need the whole country, it needs the people who can drive to Yatala.
  • Who it's for. #diyfencing #ownerbuilder #tradie #fencingcontractor #landscaper
  • The topic. #rakedfence #colourofthemonth #tradeaccount #metzag #metline #trimclad and so on.

Two things worth knowing

Facebook is not Instagram. Hashtags do almost nothing on Facebook and a wall of them looks like spam there. So each post has a long Instagram set and a short Facebook set of three. Both are written out above.

No #colorbondfencing. It gets searched, so leaving it out costs a little reach. But "Colorbond fencing" is the exact phrasing BlueScope's guidelines rule out, and it would sit on the same page as a post telling people the right way to write it. #colorbondsteel keeps "steel" attached, which is the part that matters. Say the word if you would rather have the reach and I will put it back.

04

Take the files

Everything here is downloadable. The images are 1080 x 1080, which is what Facebook and Instagram want, and the captions come as plain text you can paste straight in.

05

The COLORBOND® steel wording, checked

BlueScope is specific about how its trade mark is written, and a supplier that gets it wrong looks careless. Every caption and every design above has been through these rules.

We writeNever
Fence kits made from COLORBOND® steelColorbond fencing
COLORBOND® steel in Monument®Colourbond in monument
Gate kits made from COLORBOND® steelColor Bond gates

Always capitals, always the ®, always followed by "steel" because it is an adjective and never a noun. Colour names carry their own ®. Any post that names COLORBOND® steel or a colour carries the acknowledgement line, and that line also sits in the About section of both profiles.

One to flag: the lockup on the current Straya logo writes it as "Colorbond" in lower case with the BlueScope logotype. That is the one spot on the brand that does not match BlueScope's guidelines. It has been left off the social post designs. Worth tidying up at some point, so it is on the list rather than lost.

06

About the photos

Straight up: the fences in these posts are real jobs, photographed on site, and they are Amazing Fencing jobs. Same owners, same team, so they are your photos to use. They are also a stand-in for something better.

Why it matters

Social media for a fencing supplier runs on photos of real fences. Six to eight posts a month eats photos faster than most businesses expect. The difference between a page that looks alive and one that looks like a catalogue is a steady supply of new, real pictures.

That is what the photo engine in the gameplan is for. It switches on this month, so by December we are posting customers' own fences instead of borrowing from the installs.

What switches on in October

  • QR "show us your fence" cards packed with every kit order
  • The upload form, with a permission tick box
  • One line at the counter on pickup: "send us a photo when it's up"
  • The weekly five-minute yard photo habit, with a shot list
  • Tradie of the Month invitations to trade account holders
  • A one-page photo guide for the team, installers and customers
07

What I need from you

Five quick decisions and we are away

  • Approve the six posts, or mark up what you want changed. Changes are quick.
  • Access to the Facebook page and Instagram account so I can schedule, reply to comments and read the numbers.
  • Who is the face of Straya? Pick one or two people for a five-minute phone screen test this month. The first Reels go out in November.
  • The Amazing Fencing link. How visible do you want it? It is the strongest trust shortcut you own, but you may not want it loud in front of installers on trade accounts. Your call, and we word it together.
  • A yard visit. Half an hour with a phone gets us the yard, the racks, a kit being packed and the counter. It feeds the next two months of posts.

Then what

Once these are approved they get scheduled for the dates above and I will have November's plan to you before the end of the month: Surfmist® as the colour, the first Reels from the face of Straya, and the storm season posts that matter most in SEQ. Boosting the best posts across South East Queensland starts in November too.
